St. Luke's Hospital, Kilkenny
Description:
St. Luke’s is a General Medical Hospital serving a rural population of 126,000 people. This project was the first phase of a redevelopment master-plan that involved the construction of a 6,000m2 two and three storey building replacing the existing emergency department.
The development comprises a new Emergency/Acute Medical Admission Unit (MAU), Out-Patient Department, Pathology Department, Training & Education Centre, Day Services Unit and Community Day Hospital. A new wing is also located to the west of the existing hospital and joins the existing theater complex via a first floor corridor link.
Other features include a new concourse area that connects the existing hospital to the new outpatients building and the Susie Long wing. The project is finished with substantial car parking space and ancillary works.
