Friday 26th June, 2026

In order to facilitate completion of the footpath at the corner of the Tallow and Rathborne Road, a section of footpath will need to be closed. Traffic management will be set up on Wednesday 1st July to allow these works to be carried out. This will be in place until 17th July. Thank you for your patience during this period as we push on towards completion of the project.

Thursday 28th May, 2026

Just to advise there will be lighting level testing in the phase 1 buildings on Tuesday 2nd June from 10pm to 1am. This involves turning on lights within the building to check required lighting levels are being achieved and won’t involve any noise so should go unnoticed but just to make you aware.

Tuesday 12th May, 2026

As advised in our monthly newsletter we will be removing Tower Crane 1 (closest to Tallow Road) this Thursday and Friday, 14th and 15th May. Traffic management will be in place and a section of Tallow Road will be fenced off to manage the loading of the crane. Access will remain to the parking in the Tallow Building.

Friday 24th April, 2026

Due to a fault on the mobile crane at end of business yesterday, there was issues with demobilisation. Mechanics from both the crane hire company and manufacturer attended site to resolve the issue and was made safe at 11pm. We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this uncontrollable event.

Monday 13th April, 2026

As previously advised, works have commenced today on the Canal Tow Path. These works are scheduled to run from 13th April to the 13th July.

Tuesday 31st March, 2026

As the project works progress we will now be opening the gate at the top of the Tallow Road. We aim to have this gate up and running on Wednesday 8th April. A gateman will be in place here as it enters and exits the site.

Thursday 26th March, 2026

We are currently in the process of removing our site compound. Our new site compound relocated inside Block 1 at the Tallow Road end of the project. The pedestrian access to site will also move to this end of the project from Monday 30th March.

Monday 23rd March, 2026

In line with project progress we are currently scheduling our next Tower Crane removal. In order to complete these works (similar to previous crane removal), a section of Rathborne Boulevard between Rathborne Rise and Rathborne Chase will be closed from 15th to the 17th April. A letter drop will be carried out over the coming days with mark ups showing areas affected. We apologise for any inconvenience caused during this period.

Monday 2nd March, 2026

For awareness we will commence fire alarm testing later this week in the blocks. We will schedule these tests to take place between the hours of 10am and 4pm to minimise nuisance. Thank you for your understanding.

Friday 20th February, 2026

We can confirm the safe removal of the tower crane. We are currently demobilising and the road will be reopened this afternoon. We thank you for your patience. We will advise on our next Tower Crane removal date over the coming weeks.

Thursday 19th February, 2026

We are currently in the process of dismantling the tower crane. These works will be complete by 7pm in line with our planning. Apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Tuesday 17th February, 2026

We are currently in the process of installing balconies on Block 5. These works need to be completed this evening to allow for the crane dismantle to commence tomorrow. These works will be complete by 7pm in line with our planning. Apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Wednesday 11th February, 2026

As advised on 19th January we will be proceeding with dismantling one of the Tower Cranes next week. We will set up the crane on Rathborne Boulevard at Lunch time Wednesday 18th February. The target will be to have the crane dismantled and road reopened by COB 20th February.

As advised in our September and November newsletters and as completed on Phase 1 we will continue this week moving out our hoarding by 300mm along Phase 2 to allow for the external works to continue.

The site will be closed for the Christmas Period from the 24th December to the 4th January (dates inclusive). There will be a full time attendance on site and we will also carry out periodic inspections of the site during the holidays, however if you become aware of any issues relating to the site, please contact your relevant building management company. We are currently in the process of removing the jib section from the tower crane. These works will be complete for approx 7pm this evening.

As works are progressing we will be removing the first of our tower cranes today 17th December. This should be fully complete by close of business 18th December. Works will be confined within the site perimeter so shouldn't cause any unusual activities other truck movements in and out of site.

Works are progressing well with the Watermain connection on the corner of Rathborne Road and Rathborne Boulevard. The infrastructure has now been installed and is currently being tested. We are targeting having the connection complete over the coming days to allow the road to be reinstated by Friday 2nd May. Apologies for any inconvenience caused during this period.

In order to complete ESB connections for Phase 1 of the project, ducting works will be carried out on the 19th March for approx 2 weeks. This will involve excavating along Royal Canal Way to make the connection point on Rathborne Drive. Full Traffic Management will be in place during these works.

Considering the Status Red alerts for Storm Eowyn coming into effect tomorrow and in accordance with recommendations from the National Emergency Co-ordination Group, we have decided to close all sites and offices effective from close of business this evening, Thursday the 23rd of January. A site inspection will be carried out Friday afternoon once the Status Red Warning has been lifted.
The derogation which was in place for tomorrow 24th January has now been moved to Monday 27th January.

Following a number of concerns raised in relation to out of hours works, WCL investigated this issue. We note that canal clearing is ongoing on the southern side of the site. This is unrelated to the Rathborne Wharf Project and not under our control.

As part of the CIF Construction Safety Campaign, Dublin Fire Brigade will be on site on the 21st October carrying out rescue demonstrations for the site team.

In order to facilitate our first large pour on the Level 01 slab of Block 04, a derogation is in place with DCC for Wednesday 16th October. This derogation will allow for site works to commence at 06:00 and will run to 23:00 in order to achieve the required finish.

As Piling works on site are now drawing to a close to a close we will be removing this item of plant from site. Walls Construction Limited have a permit in place to allow for removal of plant from site at 6am on Monday 23rd September. Unfortunately, as this as an abnormal load we are unable to deliver to site during normal working hours.
